Type of hidden camera you should buy it totally depends upon your objective, design strength and secretarial resources. By keeping these entire things in mind you can decide which type of hidden cameras can be installed for the purpose of supervision. There are several types of cameras, hidden cameras, the spy cams and the nanny cams. There are a lot of aspects to consider about at the time of deciding among the existing models. The most important thing which has to be considered is the place where the camera is to be placed. An additional feature to think about is whether you have the need of color or black and white camera.

Here are the features you must know before buying a wireless hidden camera.

CCD or CMOS:

CCD technology based hidden camera is better than the CMOS type because it provide higher resolution image in low light conditions. So choose a model based on CCD technology and not the CMOS type.

LUX rating:

Choose the lux rating according to your need. The lower the number, the less light is required to reproduce a clear image. Rated at 1 LUX, means it has the ability to see an image during early evening hours. A .05 LUX camera can actually see more than the human eye at night. 0.003 LUX is required for situations in almost complete darkness.

Camera resolution:

Choose the camera with higher resolution because higher the resolution number, the sharper the image. Look for around 400 lines of resolution for top of the line models (more expensive); pick one with between 420 and 470 lines of resolution.

Frequency:

It simply refers to the frequency that the video is transmitted on. Typically you have 900 Mhz, 1.2 Ghz and 2.4Ghz to choose from. Just try to select a wireless hidden camera using a frequency not used by other wireless devices in the area to achieve maximum transmission range.

Transmission range:

It is the maximum distance between you and camera so that you can still receive the video signal. It can be vary from 300 up to 2000 feet line of sight!  Just to be safe you should assume the typical range for a wireless hidden camera to be half of that advertised.
